15 million LG Chocolate phones sold worldwide

LG Electronics has reported that LG Chocolate became the first Korean phone with world sales exceeding 15 million units. In mid April the device was launched in 100 countries and broke a 10-millionth mark. Despite of the total sales slowdown LG Chocolate enjoyed increasing demand in Japan, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. According to LG the demand was encouraged by the price, set at $200 in 3Q 2007. The company expects to reach 20 million sales of the Chocolate.I’d remind you that LG Chocolate (LG KG800) debuted on the Korean market in November 2005 and in Europe in March 2006. This is a stylish music slider featuring touch sensitive buttons with red backlight.

LG to Present its new LG-KS20 Smartphone with ‘ALL TOUCHSCREEN’ Display

LG plans to present the new HSDPA smart phone — “LG-KS20″ at the upcoming IFA Events. There may not be a whole lot to tell you about this 3G smart phone, some notable features, include a 2.8-inch all touchscreen display, 2 mega-pixels camera module, full internet access capability, mp3 playback, Bluetooth 2.0, cursive script recognition and video call, as well as push email service.
In addition, HSDPA offers a sustained download speed of about 3.6Mbps. The LG-KS20 smart phone is expected to hit European market in the fourth quarter 2007.

LG-KC1 communicator debuted in Korea

LG Electronics has made a Korean release of its LG-KC1 communicator supporting WiBro (the Korean analog of WiMax). The device was initially introduced at KIS (Korea IT Show) this April. LG-KC1 is based on Marvell Monahans 800 MHz processor running on Windows Mobile 5.0. The sales have already started in Korea at 700000 Won (approx. $760).

Music minded LG Trax with 3G

The network got another bunch of spy photos, this time around, the music-heavy LG Trax was caught on camera during the annual midsummer event at Christie's auction house, even though it hasn't been officially announced yet - supposedly AT&T will grab it in July.
As it seems the handset sports GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity, as well as 3G WCDMA with HSDPA. The Trax comes in housed in clamshell type design and features player controls on the front fascia, on top of that, the LG Trax boasts a 1,3 Mpix camera, microSD-slot and Bluetooth connectivity. The bundled music player deals with MP3, WMA and AAC.

LG to release Titanium Black

Being satisfied with sales of LG Shine designer’s handset with metal shell LG Electronics decided to differentiate color solutions of its popular model and introduced today LG Shine with darker shell color called “Titanium Black”.
The technical specs of the new LG Shine “Titanium Black” are the same as the original: a 2-megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach, a scrolling wheel, a music player, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Bluetooth support.
LG launches LG Shine ‘Titanium Black” in the UK, France, Holland and Austria.

The American operator Verizon Wireless has announced the release of LG VX8550 Chocolate phone in 2 new colors – Black Cherry and Blue Mint. Last year the operator introduced a slider Chocolate in Black for CDMA networks. The new models will be available in company’s stores from July 9 on. LG VX8550 supports V CAST Music, V CAST Video and VZ Navigator. Like other Chocolate phones the VX8550 comes with a touch-sensitive keypad with red backlight. |

Foma L704i: LG Chocolate for Japan

Yesterday Japan’s mobile service provider NTT DoCoMo unveiled a Chocolate mobile phone by LG Electronics for Foma 3G networks – the L704i. Now NTT DoCoMo subscribers in Japan will have an opportunity to use all operator’s services with the LG Chocolate phone, take it abroad for 3G/HSDPA and GSM networks.

LG has introduced a new mobile phone KG280, which follows the traditions of LG Chocolate. Unlike the latter the new device belongs to mid range. The KG280 is a slider with the Chocolate design: the same streamline forms in black and vinous colors, and spectacular touch keyboard. The KG280 works in GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 networks and supports Internet via WAP browser. It features a 262K color display, fully animated user’s interface and plenty of settings and effects. The FCC site has published the info on a new mobile phone by LG Electronics – LX360. This is a clamshell with a large internal display and mirror surface hiding the secondary display. LG LX360 is likely to be offered by the American operator Sprint Nextel.
